a few words about us
Erika Davis is founder and attorney at Butler Davis, PLLC in Detroit.
Erika attended the University of Michigan Law School between 1995 and 1998, receiving her law degree in May 1998.
During her time in law school and following graduation, she worked at Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, P.C., where she developed and honed her legal skills. By the end of her tenure with the firm, she had worked her way up to partnership. She left Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss in August 2009 to establish her own firm – Butler Davis, PLLC.
An important value Erika brings to the practice of law is the imperative of justice for traditionally under-represented minorities, people with disabilities and those with poor access to legal services. To promote these core values, she is a co-chair and active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Committee on Justice Initiatives.
Erika serves all types of clientele, including individuals and businesses and possesses a particular expertise in commercial litigation and corporate law. Many of her clients are small to medium sized businesses in both profit and non-profit sectors.
She also specializes in alternative dispute resolution, where she skillfully helps her clients resolve their differences outside of the courtroom. Erika’s skills in this area enable her to serve as a commercial arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, where she applies her legal and decision-making skills in resolving third-party disputes.
As a legal entrepreneur, Erika’s mission is to bring the same quality of service to her clients that large firms provide, while delivering the value offered by a boutique practice. She understands that legal matters constitute first-rate problems and that each client who walks through her door deserves first-rate service. At Butler Davis, PLLC, clients from all walks of life are offered: Big firm quality and boutique customer service.
